How We Can Help
We offer friendly support and advice on a local level.
We will try and visit you at home if necessary and discuss your situation with you and your family.
We understand that sudden trips to the mainland hospitals can sometimes catch you out financially -- we are able to offer financial assistance to those that find themselves in this situation.
If you have problems with accessing services, you might require help in making adaptations to your house and we can offer this.
You may wish someone to speak for/with you to a social worker, councillor or other professionals and we can arrange this.
For financial assistance, confirmation of your illness from a doctor is required.

What people say
The kindness, caring and friendship offered by the members is truly second to none and very much appreciated. I for one am very glad the organisation exists and I know that they will be there whenever my needs arise.
WIKPA have been amazing with our family, supporting us when our son was diagnosed with Cystinosis 3 years ago. They have been a great help with the cost of frequent trips to Glasgow hospital and the kidney transplant two years ago.
WIKPA have, and continue to be, a great source of support to me, from providing a listening ear during my early diagnosis to making sure myself and the other dialysis patients get what we need. Thank you.
